How SmartMeta using AI collects and uses data on your Shopify store.

When you install SmartMeta using AI, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

  • Store information: name, email address, phone number, physical address, and billing details.
  • Products or collections: information about the products or collections in your store that are accessed for generating meta tags, titles, and descriptions.

Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information from you and/or your customers once you have installed the App:

  • Merchant information: your name, email address, phone number, and other details about your store for managing and communicating with your account.
  • Visitor information: information about individuals who visit your store, such as their IP address, web browser details, time zone, and information about the cookies installed on their device.

We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account, or using the following technologies:

  • Cookies: data files placed on your device or computer, which often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies and how to disable them, visit https://www.allaboutcookies.org.
  • Log files: track actions occurring on the site and collect data such as IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • Web beacons, tags, and pixels: electronic files used to record information about how you browse the App.

We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Service and operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to:

  • Communicate with you regarding your account.
  • Optimize and improve the App.
  • Provide you with information or advertising related to our products or services.
  • Generate AI-assisted meta titles, descriptions, and tags for products and collections you select.

We may share your personal information with trusted third-party service providers who assist with:

  • Fraud prevention
  • Billing and payment processing
  • Technical services (for example, cloud storage, data analytics, AI inference providers)

As described above, we may use your personal information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you.
